Remembering Across Continents: European Politics of Memory from Australian Perspectives (RAC)

The project aims to advance understanding of the role of collective remembrance and memory construction in building political communities. The project will examine global understanding of EU’s approaches to historical memory and strategies for identity construction, and will investigate the impact of EU memory politics beyond the EU. It will also address a normative question of how to deal with contested memories and provide policy-based responses to European efforts for transnational remembrance.
