Trade negotiations between Australia and the European Union are expected to get underway in late 2018.
This EU funded Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Project aims to help Australian policy makers, industry and civil society understand European Union trade policy.

The training will include:

• an accessible explanation of how the EU works and EU trade policymaking;
• details on key current issues such as Geographic Indications, Investor-State Dispute Settlement, Services and Agricultural Trade; and
• information on how to find out more.

In this workshop you will also hear from DFAT WA State Office Director Andrea Gleason, who will deliver an Australian Government update on negotiations of the Australia–EU FTA.

In 2017, more than 530 businesses across Australia shared their experiences with PwC in an independent study commissioned by DFAT as to how business incorporates FTA policies into business strategy.

Join PwC Director Thevin Patmanathan as he shares important insights from this study, looking at how Australia’s latest FTAs with North Asia are utilised, the role they play in trade relations, and their potential influence on the future trade policy agenda for the Australia–EU FTA.

This workshop is designed to support stakeholders from different organisations and sectors who may have little or no familiarity with the EU.
