Masha, 17, and Valentyna, 41, are just two of the estimated seven million women and children who have crossed the border into Poland in 2022 following the Russian invasion of Ukraine. With unprecedented support from the government, they find safe haven in Polish homes, but face tough decisions for their future with their own families now split all across Europe.

Filmed largely by the women themselves on their own phones, this powerful documentary from Australian director Simon Target (The Polish Missionaries) takes us into the real lives of people forced out of their homes by war.

Followed by an in-person Q&A with the film's director, Simon Target.

The panel discussion and ANUCES contribution form part of the Jean Monnet project "Remembering Across Continents" supported by the Erasmus + Program of the European Commission.
