Climate Change and Energy Policy in Europe and Australia

This symposium is now available as: MP3 (please listen to the file below in four parts) and PDF (please see the contributions by Professor Dirk Ruebbelke, Professor Andreas Loescher, Dr Frank Jotzo and Dr Karen Hussey - as a courtesy to the presenters, please contact them for permission to refer to the text of their presentations for the purpose of further research).

The European Union (EU) is embarking on the third phase of its emissions trading scheme, and EU member countries have commenced big changes in their energy systems. Australia is about to start its carbon pricing scheme, and large scale changes in the energy system need to take place if emissions are to be reduced. What are the parallels in discussion and action on climate change and energy policy between the Europe and Australia? What other joint projects should both consider and pursue? The speakers at this symposium will share their insights on climate change and energy policy in the EU and Australia.
